    ... The views of Nihonmatsu and the surrounding mountains are beautiful. On return to Nihonmatsu, We paid a quick visit to the Nihonmatsu shrine. This is a reconstructed castle that was nearly destroyed in the civil war in 1832. The castle is now a museum and tells the story of the people who lived there, including a young woman who had the Samurai spirit and cut her pair short to join the fighting when the castle was besieged by the emperor's army.
