      ... and the rest of the staff and students who were on their lunch break. The staff were all very friendly and full of praise for Jess's work with the kids. The kids were typical Y7 to Y9 some cheeky, some shy. They all practiced their English on us which was fun. The Primary school was having an opens day for parents, so we were able to see the classes in action. It is a small school for the children of Namie who have not moved away to other parts of Japan.       ... out the women's bath. After breakfast we took a drive to Ainu, a city in the west of the prefecture, were we visited Tsuruga-Jo. This is a reconstructed castle that was nearly destroyed in the civil war in 1832. The castle is now a museum and tells the story of the people who lived there, including a young woman who had the Samurai spirit and cut her pair short to join the fighting when the castle was besieged by the emperor's army.       Nihonmatsu 28 Apr Jess met us off the train at Nihonmatsu (you can imagine our excitement at seeing our girl) and took us for a brief drive to her apartment.
