Last day!
... they took us over to the next town to go to Buenos which does really good coxinha. Will miss Araraquara and its ridiculous heat.
Off at 8.30 tomorrow morning to Sao Paulo, its 12.30 now and I need to shower so should probably get a wiggle on.

A rather good weekend

Today we finally got around to finding the waterfalls that everyone seemed to know about, but no-one had actually visited. All we knew was that they were near campus, and possibly at a posh hotel just outside town. One (and a bit) months in
... been up to much this past week. Had our weekly trip to SESC to see some music, actually went into the lab a few days and then had a night out on Thursday. Yesterday was a holiday so currently in the middle of a 3-day weekend, which will be a 4-day weekend for me. Got some Portuguese homework to do at some point and have just finished watching the first weeks videos for my first online course with Coursera. Not blown away so far, but hopefully it will pick up. Three days of rain and a lot of "pura vida"
... night activities at the beach or in a night club but it is still off season and there were not many people around. After four days I left Morro. It was a funny time and it was nice to hang out with the two Swiss guys.
On Sunday I left for Itacaré which is supposed to be a paradise for surfer and its laid back beach life. There I wanted to stay at least a week just to hang out on the beaches.

... rock group, a wind quintet doing classical stuff and some African/Brazilian fusion...
Been to a few parties (open bar ftw), checked out an observatory and a research lab at 11.30 PM (party animals) and witness the 'happiness train' which is a double decker bus with benches instead of seats that kids go on and drive around the town with a bloke dressed as spiderman and one as a clown. Very strange.
