We got into Bucharest on Tuesday about 1:30 pm. We were taken to a Ramada Inn about 10 minutes from downtown . It is a very nice Modern American style hotel. It was probably built in the last 10 years. The airport and drive to the hotel reminded me of Russia. Much of it was old and plain architecture. Part of the airport was new and upscale. First night in Romania

A travel blog entry by kirstyandlogan on Sep 05, 2013

We left the guesthouse this morning with a tub full of home grown tomatoes, peppers, chillis and raspberries, which was lovely (chilli for dinner tonight!) We crossed into Romania over the Danube on what was a very suspect barge thing, lucky the river wasn't very wide so we weren't on it for long! We had decided to give Bucharest a miss but traveled towards there to camp for the night. A pretty uneventful day, just driving really. Again no pics...
