      ... grounds for the hundreds of motorhomes that we see are really just dusty paddocks. Would be pretty depressing pulling into one of those every night. On the way to Calvi we are stopped on the road by French Customs. They wanted to see our "papers" - really, I thought that only happened in the movies. After answering numerous questions, "What are you smuggling?", "Have you worked illegally?", "What type of guns do you have in the back?" ...

      ... something special. We find the right road and drive up some very narrow, very windy roads to what seems to be (and turns out to be) the very top of a mountain. The hotel is indeed very special. He has outdone himself. It is luxurious++++!!!!! The view from every room, including our own spacious suite complete with terrace is to die for!!!! I want to stay here forever!!! It is designed to blend skilfully with the natural environment and there are stunning rock walls and beautiful ...

      We wandered the town of St Florent, had drinks at a local café/bar with a view of the ship out in the bay. Jamie had a coke and I had a Colomba beer, a local unfiltered beer with local herbs (myrtle). We were back for a 1:30 seafood lunch at the Colonnade


      Then relaxing by the pool and reading. It was Jamie's birthday today and our stewardess filled the rooms ...

"umfffffff..." was Jacques' agreement from the galley. For the rest of what ended up being an early evening, we ate, drank and laughed, protected in pocket of Milena, with the screeching/howling/whistling winds above.
