... tour. We boarded the tender out in the bay then a 5-10min ride into St Florent. We boarded a bus and drove around and up into the hills (highest is 2500 meters) with lots of curves and great views of the sea and other islands.

We ended up wine tasting at a small Patriamo winery. They had white, rose, red and Muscato along with a Myrtle liquor and an Ambrose (strawberry tree) liquir most weren't that good and I ...

OMG, what a dismal grey beginning, and even end to this day in Bastia, at Port Toga. The rains deluged us in the early morning hours, and never totally stopped all day long. Every time we tried to emerge from below decks, it was only for a moment, before having to make a hasty retreat to the below deck saloon. Jacques went to the doctor this morning, because on one of the last 3 long days, he was coming up from the engine room, and got thrown against the engine hatch wall area, and really hurt his back. The doctor gave him some drugs, and sent him on his way. When he returned I shared my "knee liquid" that Denise gave to me. It is an inflammatory, topical liquid, where as what he ...

... sloshing around uncontrollably just outside the harbor, Marina informed me: "Good Morning Robin! Don't worry, we are not going anywhere. We had to get off the gas dock, and the wind changed directions, so we had to move." "Whew, that is a relief! This certainly is NOT the day we should think about going anywhere!" Stephen (our very strong resemblance to Leonardo di Caprio, deck hand) has crewed on several boats (and I think even did some helping on ...

... so gracious in helping us for the last five days, and a part of me is so sorry to see them go. But luckily, we will see them again in Cannes, for a couple of dinners. Our new crew member, Stephen, joined us. He has had significant boating experience, and had crewed on several classic boats in the past. He is married, with a 7 year old daughter, and lives in Toulon, France. Stephen bares an un-canny resemblance to Leonardo de Caprio. Stephen will be sailing with us, as ...
