After 2 days in Munich, we meandered south towards Austria. We stopped at the summer palace, Linderhof Castle, built by "mad, King Ludwig" where it began to snow, the first of the season. Hard to believe it started so late in the Bavarian mountains. It was a small palace, but extremely ornate and extravagant.
Our lunch stop was in the small town of Oberammergau, famous for its performance of the Passion Play done every 10 years. It was charming and a ...

worried. All the parking areas along the way have large "Closed" signs over them
and road working ...

I was so excited I practically ran onto this bridge which was a little more rickety than I would have liked but I was out there for a while anyway! The castle was magnificent- it was stunning against the background of the mountains. I could have stayed there all day, and would have been happy.
After taking some photos, we walked to the castle. It was even bigger than I could've ever imagined! We ...
