    ... 2 halloween parties with kids. The parties that I went to were really fun, and the main costumes are vampires, witches, ghosts, or a bloody person.

    Michael: It was as busy (well more so for Julie) in getting the costumes ready for Halloween as it is in Canada. I liked that the school celebrated Halloween and the kids were able to wear their costumes for part of the school day.     ... for a walking tour of a very pretty Innsbruck (our hotel is in the center of town). While we obviously enjoyed the sights of Italy, it was great to be in the mountains again and see Bavarian (in this case Tyrolean) architecture.

    We were supposed to take the cable cars and cog wheel train to Alpspix and Zugspitz for Adrian's birthday but it snowed overnight and both mountains were covered in cloud. We had to come up with a plan B and found the very pretty town of Mittenwald was close by. The buildings in this part of Bavaria are painted with murals which is quite different to other areas.     ... we have visited. These murals sparked young Ludwig's love of romantic tales. Neuschwanstein was never lived in but alot had been finished before Ludwig was declared bankrupt. The decorations and furnishings are lavish and once again the walls painted with murals, but on a grander scale.     When I reached the top there were scenic views across the whole valley. There is also a viewing platform to admire the castle.
