    ... in no time. The trip itself was only two hours.

    The Malacca tern imam was outside a large shopping mall that you did a loop around to get into or as we found with the taxi out off. We got a taxi that said he new where we had to go to but after deciding against one road and then pulling outside a large block of units that looked like they were being demolished and I panicked thinking what have we got ...

    ... Diwali to you, but that's how they say it in Malay. We were informed that Malaysia was to get two days of Deepavali because the religious bigwigs ****** up the calendar and declared it on the wrong day (yesterday). Although we went out looking yesterday and we couldn't find any lights or fireworks. We're going out again this evening to try and find them again. Malaysia is big on public holidays.     ... blue tongues flickering as they fully submerged their long bodies. Little turtles were also present, swimming along side the boat. We then went up the Melacca viewing tower. This was a large concrete pole which reached the height of 113 metres. Attached to it was a large circular viewing platform which would rotate 360 degrees as you made your ascent to the top. It would hold you up there for a few minutes before bringing you back down. The views were alright from the top, ...

    ... much and we retreated to a Chinese restaurant for some lunch. There was an old chinese guy with a meat clever doing all sorts to pieces of meat behind the counter, he obviously did this all day every day and looked skilled enough to skin a grape or butcher a pig with his one instrument.

    Feeling slightly cooler we headed back out and walked around the quiet streets a little more before the heat was again too much and again headed for the refuge of a mall. ...
