... the toilets: mostly hole on floor on public toilets and most toilets are just horrible in general. Thailand 2-Malaysia 0. In Malacca we saw the Portuguese fort, or what's left of it. It's crazy that these people decided to came here in wooden boats and then conquer the place and build stuff. We saw the Dutch square, which was brilliant. The Dutch drove the Portuguese out in 1641, and later on they lost it to the British empire. So this place was really ...

Mick then introduced me to anchor beer, the beer of the trip from here on in, in some random Chinese restaurant at the top of our road. I'm sure we'd have been refused if I hadn't ...

    ... quite unexpected.

Martin stopped in his tracks and was staring at the river. What's that? I stop and look and we see something swimming along on the far side of the river. It's too big to be a rat, it doesn't look like an otter, and then it began to swim closer and we could see that it was a lizard, and a big one too. We followed it along the river and we saw it had a few friends sitting on a wall enjoying the sun. This was incredible. We watch for a while and decide to ...

... cemetery which lay on a Hill. Alan suggested to take it easy during lunch time because of the heat so we rested a bit in the shade of the trees. After a walk around the park and to the top of the hill we had a quick look at another Chinese temple and then went to find Fort St. John. When we found the path up the hill towards it (after cyclingaround it once) we saw a few happy retired guys sitting in the shade of a little veranda near the fort. So we chained our bikes together ...
