While Ryanair was offering one of its planes to airlift XL Leisure holidaymakers home to the UK, it was leaving hundreds of its own passengers stranded at the airport in Alghero, Sardinia, overnight Friday after a violent storm made the airport inoperable. ... It was very charming with a strong Spanish influence. Sardinia has a rich and violent history and was for a long time occupied by Spain so many of the ruins and castles remaining have a Spanish style to them. We set off the next morning for our overnight sail to Menorca. So we said arrivederci to Italy and headed back to Spanish waters.

... and I spent our afternoon picnic-ing on the beach, and later falling fast asleep on the sand, drooling on our towels and getting a sunburn to be truly proud of. It just got me depressed, so I decided I had already did a good 3 hours of cycling today, and I still have to get back. On the way back I met Avril again (my roommate) and she talked to me about religion, because Christianity got her out of depression ...
