Pronounced Hania. A city on the sea. Inhabited for 10,000 years (Neolithic era, not to be confused with the mosaic era that took place at my mom and dad's house when they tiled a bathroom with garage sale remnants he'd purchased over the years). We had no tour planned for the day. So we just walked around and got lost in the ...

... to work for our views. The paths were challenging with lots of stairs and large rough rocks. We were glad that we rented walking sticks from our guide. It was great to have them and not have to carry them on our entire trip. They certainly helped with my balance on the boulders and across the rocks in the river. We certainly needed to concentrate nowhere we were walking especially as we crossed the river ...

... when we could see it in colour. We spent several hours there lazing around on the sand and in the crystal clear warm water. We had lunch at Almyriki restaurant overlooking the bay at Stavros. We ended up back at Chrisostomos Restaurant again for a different but good dinner.

Day 4 was a combined site seeing, final stroll through Chania and a drive back to Heraklion. We visited the Archaeological Museum which is quite small but well ...
