My schedule is pretty good actually.
Before arriving in France I had asked if I could have either a Monday
or Friday off, this way I would be able to make some weekend trips if
I wanted to. I was lucky and now have Friday, Saturday, Sunday to
myself and to spend with the other assistants who are living in

... bike ride up to the town of Duingt. The route runs mostly along the lake, is very flat and well marked. After lunch at a sandwich shop (on great French bread) in Duingt, we rode back to Annecy. We got back to Annecy just in time to return the bikes and hop on a 1 hour boat tour on the lake.

As usual negotiating through a succession of tiny French villages, on roads that are always too narrow, makes driving 'interesting'... Our Tom Tom GPS has made a big difference - but still whoever is not driving, is often acting as a navigator too.
