... different department of WHO who wanted to see Winnie's pictures from Sierra Leone that she could use for training. The pictures Winnie took are amazing, and so are the stories that accompany them. She was there for 3 months, and she told us all about the reaction of the public, how they trained local medical officials to set up clinics, "green" vs "red" zone procedures, and survivor stories. ... mountains, and typical pretty French scenery. If our highways were created to easily facilitate a nuclear evacuation of cities, Switzerland's were made to get you places while enjoying the scenery, and France's were made to remind you what it felt like to travel by covered wagon. ... to rugged mountains and alpine countryside of the Rhone Alps. For the last part of our trip there were a lot of tunnels as the road went straight through the mountains. The game of holding your breath through the tunnel had to be abandoned as even the champion breath holder (Pete) couldn't hold his breath for several kilometers. The longest tunnel was 3.3km. We got to Doussard, which is a quiet ...

Glenn mapped out a trip through the mountain passes but didn't think about checking out how the seasonal weather affect the roads and it just so happened that their snow melt was later than usual. We got up to the mountain pass, on a gloomy, rainy day, only to find out that the passes weren't opened yet. We would have to go all the way back down and ...
