... La Darsena at 8pm. We were just seated and looking at menu when in walked Peter and Edwina so we changed our tables to sit together. Very relaxed atmosphere with beautiful food. Tried Aperoll as an aperitif as recommended by Edwina. Looked like Tizer! Had pumpkin risotto with venison to start, Stu had lentil with sausage soup. Followed by duck and steak. We tried a selection of deserts and had to be rolled back to hotel. Great company, wine and ...

Day 274 6 hrs, 13 kms According to Google Maps, it's not possible to create a walking map up across Splugenpass. I'm hoping that that's only because when Google Maps comes across a tunnel, they automatically assume that pedestrians aren't allowed through it. Hoping... But doing a little research I found that there's supposed to be a hiking trail up towards the pass. That would be perfect... if I can find it! I follow a rather pedestrian ...

... winding pedestrian streets full of people, pausing to treat myself to a delicious pastry. It feels like I've reached the final frontier trading post before launching out into the wild. My favorite spot is the rushing river cutting right through the middle of town, with houses perched atop the giant boulders along its banks, with a statue of a saint giving his blessing to those who pass. I try to figure out the best way to take my video clip ...
