Costa Rica- Back to Nature

A travel blog entry by kanikacse13

Recently I visited Costa Rica which in every sense is 'La Pura Vida' (Pure Life and clearly living). This blog is intended to help fellow travellers to plan their stay in Costa Rica and I am writing it as per my experience in Paos, Arenal, Monteverde and Manuel Antonio. I have divided this review in four sections , one for each place I visited …

We got picked up at 7:15 this morning to go on the Sky Trek Canopy Tour in Monteverde. The canopy tour consisted of 9 ziplines. The longest zipline was close to half a mile. Some of the ziplines had speeds of almost 40 mph. The first zipline we did went through a cloud. About halfway along the line, we were no longer visible to those behind us. I …

A Quick Stop in Monte Verde

... walk to the end of a platform, where two guides hooked you up to ropes that were hung up on a very high tree, and were told to hold on tight and drop off the platform. You free fall for about two seconds before the ropes catch you and you swing out towards the valley, high enough that you catch a glimpse of the spectacular jungle and valley views. After a few more zip lines, we had come to our final obstacle in the tour; the superman zip. This zip line was a bit ...

Most interesting is the "Rube Goldberg" contraption he created out of large PVC pipes and a hair dryer to separate the cocoa seed from the husk. He also uses a juicer to really grind up the seeds and eventually ...

I had expected a bit more from the hotel. Everything was good but just I did not find it value for money. There is spa, pool and restaurant in the hotel. The room decor was jaded and it gave me feel of Inn and not like a 3 star hotel as it claims.
