Water, water everywhere
We left Zagreb in a downpour and it didn't let up until we had been hiking in the park for an hour or so, a wet, wet day for us!
Leaving Zagreb was a bit of challenge, in the rain, in rush hour and with a misread GPS, but we figured out what mistake we made and were soon on our way. Leaving the expressway we came across reminders of the …
Cascades and Turquoise Lakes
The scenery in this national park is breathtaking. It's like walking in the garden of Eden. There must be hundreds of waterfalls and cascades of all different sizes connecting a network of 15 beautiful turquoise lakes. We spent a few hours in the area, hiking around the lakes, past and sometimes over top of or right beside the waterfalls. The color …
So Excited! 'Someday' Has Arrived

TravelPod Member ReviewsPlitvice Hotel Plitvice Lakes National Park
The rooms at Pltivice Hotel were clean and reception was very polite. We found staff to be very regimented which was disappointing - but we were there to see the park - so not too concerned. However, the location of the Hotel from the bus stop was only a 5 minute walk and again maybe 5 minutes to the Park entry gates. Fabulous location and worked very well for us as we were backpacking.
