Obviously a remnant of the Communist times. This hotel is set amongst the splendour of the Plitvice National Park. The hotel lacks WiFi and the shower is inconveniently placed in a bath tub approximately 12 inches off the ground.

The rooms at Pltivice Hotel were clean and reception was very polite. We found staff to be very regimented which was disappointing - but we were there to see the park - so not too concerned. However, the location of the Hotel from the bus stop was only a 5 minute walk and again maybe 5 minutes to the Park entry gates. Fabulous location and worked very well for us as we were backpacking.

We've seen Plitvice National Park on TV and always said it would be so nice to see it 'someday' - well 'someday' has arrived.

We took the 2.5 hour bus ride from Zagreb to Plitvice. The travel books said there wasn't much for accommodation especially for backpackers on foot so I made sure to book a hotel room online right in the park . …

Luckily they didn’t require us to take our luggage out.

As a result of this long wait, we got to the capital of

Today, the weather was a complete change from other days with a rather high humidity under blue skies with white, not black cumulus clouds on the horizon. However, while talking to the owner of a souvenir shop last night she mentioned that big storms similar to those in Prague are predicted for Zagreb. Lets hope we can keep ahead of them.

... into the park again for one more look before we left. We figured since we bought our day pass at 2pm maybe theyd give us 24 hours. It took being a bit creative getting through an ever so slightly non standard entrance but so worth it as you'll see through the photos. You should buy a 2 day ticket as we got stopped by a guard and had to plead ignorance so they let us go. Now we feel we've really seen the park properly have seen it under perfect weather.

... same.. but better than not taking any!

I was spent by 4:30 so I headed back to the hotel for a long hot shower and then accidentally fell asleep on my bed. Eventually I woke up and headed to the hotel restaurant for some dinner. While I was waiting for my order to come, I watched a lady leave the restaurant to go stand in the hall way. Then she fainted (he husband caught her). A restaurant employee went out to help. After she ...
