... ll spare all the non-Disney folks reading
this blog the gory details, but as an example this park has a giant volcano as
the centerpiece (much like Cinderella’s Castle, this is Nemo’s Vulcania.) This volcano hosts two Jules Verne
attractions – 20,000 Leagues under the Sea and Journey to the Center of the
Earth. Also hosts two restaurants, and
it erupts with fire spewing from the top every once in a while. That’s pretty cool.
<br ...

Pufferfish fit for a king

... countless other chefs, including his son, who works alongside him in the family's Tokyo restaurant, Tairyo, or "good catch." Japanese are the largest consumers of fugu, eating 10,000 tons a year. An elegant multicourse meal of it can cost a diner $450. Sasaki shakes his head over connoisseurs being attracted to fugu not for its flavor (described as "a taste given by heaven") but for its off-the-chart concentration of lethal toxins. But for as many Japanese who are ...

She is from the states and works with ECC. Its nice that she is here because then when Becky leaves I wont be comletely alone. So my plans for this weekend are to 1) take it easy & 2) let my ankle get better. But now I MUST go to bed. Good night/good morning

I made sure not to snore. Bangkok next... Links: La Victoria Taqueria: http://www.yelp.com/biz/la-victoria-taq ueria-san-jose ANA, cute scarves: http://www.ana.co.jp/asw/AMCTopServlet? type=use

Three whole days to soak up the culture

... I couldn't get her to sit down long enough to have a conversation with us. Shortly after, Katsushi's father, Mitsuo, came home and sat with us. He also didn't know english, so Katsushi translated for us but mostly we just smiled and nodded and laughed and nodded and smiled some more. When we left, my arms were full of gifts including a fan, some giant cartoon character shaped cookies, and chop sticks. Next we picked up Katsushi's girlfriend, Miyuki ...

Useful tips for you if you visit Japan

... walk to the Asakusa Shrine, one of the most famous shrines in Tokyo and you can buy lots of tourist souvenirs in that area. The Ginza line is excellent because it runs right through the heart of Tokyo and provides easy connections to Shibuya, Tokyo station, and Roppongi; areas that you want to visit if you are in town on a short break. At the end of my trip, I stayed at the Villa Fontaine Otemachi brach hotel all though the Villa Fontaine have ...

Navigating Around The Largest City in the World

... The haircut went smoothly, with me trying to make conversation and them understanding about 15% of it. Looking around, I saw that other people my size had managed to tie their smocks closer. I discovered strings in the smock and discretely winched it in. I had a massage, a hair treatment and a good cut. My good-looking hairdresser flicked and caressed my hair in a very effeminate, seemingly pointless manner (they don't do that back home). It ...

Drunken escapades in Tokyo

... written on it and thought.. yeah.. that sounds good. So I bought it and gulped most of it down as I was thirsty... but i was wondering why it tasted a bit funny. Not as sweet as i thought it would be.... and it was only about 15 mins later, after it went straight to my heard that i realized that it was alcoholic!!! So I ended up walking around my suburb of Tokyo, drunk, at 11 in the morning looking for food! Couldn't help but laugh at myself...

#1- arrival

... away from everything it seems and about 30-40 minutes train ride to Tokyo's downtown areas altho I haven't gone yet as I am still busy (they are spread about everywhere, no actual downtown). I am loving the campus here, it is beautiful, many many trees- it feels like holiday beach for those of you from Windsor and like camping for the rest of you- to back up that statement - I have gotten about 5 mosquito bites today alone (including an embarrassing one on my face). My roommates are ...

... for. From there we went electronics shopping. Dad never did find his headset, but we had a great time looking at all the new cameras, video cameras and tvs. Some of the newest products on the market are absolutely stunning - particularly the new Sony HD cameras. And they were a good $400 cheaper than in the US. After Akihabara we could barely move, so we hopped the Hibiya line back to Hibiya station. We lost Rudy in a bit of an elevator ...
