The Iya valley is sold in the guidebooks as undiscovered hidden Back to nature Japan. So I was ready for a rushing river and long hikes. And then there is the famous vine bridge crossing the Iya river, a feat of old timey engineering. But I should have remembered that in Japan , if there is something cool to see there is definitely going to be bus parking. So, I stayed in a little guesthouse ,Kel Na Sob, perched ...

We eventually did make it to takamatsu and, as it was getting late, we made another mad dash to fit in a trip to Ritsurin park. At this point we were still lugging our big backpacks around, but unfortunately, when we got to the park we couldn't fit our packs into one locker. Angry. Tired. Just wanting to be left alone.. Still so very lonely. I lost hope. ...

... work for me and that's only at 251m. Now u had the heat, the humidity and my backpack. I was actually a bit worried. To get there it's not just a hike up up up, but more up and down and then back up again. Not to fry my knees completely I decided to do temple 11 and then hike halfway to 12, and finally make some use of my tent. Or so I thought. Deja vu number two. At temple 11 I met an man who also was going to do the hike so we walked together. He was Japanese but spoke ...

... Shikoku has fewer people living there each year because young folks move to Tokyo or Osaka or any other big town with more work and more things going on. I guess that happens everywhere tho. I just didn't expect a city to be this empty.. Now I'm back at the hotel. Chilling. Thinking how I should organise my backpack so that I can fit everything in it. My wee shoulder bag is going in the bin. Zip broke completely and I don't want stuff to fall out or be too visible just in ...
