... dedicated to the controversial figure Che Guevara. Apparently in the early 1950's Che and a buddy of his went on a motorcycle journey to explore Argentina, and ended up in SM, tired and broke. A kind man let them spend the night in the same building the museum is now housed in. I thought I would be in and out quickly, but ended up spending over 2 hours reading and watching videos about Che. The museum is definitely biased ...

After a short while, we heard the thundering of hooves, and out of a cloud of dust emerged a herd of horses, followed by Luka riding bareback on a 2 year old horse. ... wasn't actually snowing, there was about a meter of it piled up on the ground. Since we'd come all this way we decided to walk up through the snow to Refugio Frey just to say that we had. We carefully slipped, slid and sank our feet through the snow, getting the hang of walking in it. We were as children, delighted and clumsy. ... sitting at the bottom of my pack for the last three months.

To say that it needed a shaking out would be an understatement of the highest degree! It smelled like you Grans clothes cupboard after the winter. There was nothing for it I had to go and give it a damn good airing as it was with this jacket I would be exposing the clients in the minibus with later in the day and I wanted to smell “43” not “93” years old.
