... about 1 hour on the boat. There is residential along the shoreline and half way up the mountain most of the way around the lake, the further we get away from Como although it begins to thin out and clear townships can be seen.
Menaggio is, like all the other towns, a holiday destination and at this time of year most of the places are closed. We find somewhere to have lunch and then spend the afternoon wandering through the alleyways ...

We arrived in this beautiful city at dusk so we weren't able to get the most out of it. Stayed there only for one hour and we spent that time in Parco Civico capturing the flickering lights of the city surrounded by mountains. The view from the shores of Lake Lugano was fascinating. It's truly a must-visit city and I'd love to go back and see it in broad daylight. ...

... Milan we decided to see the mighty Duomo under daylight so we headed off there again. Despite the guys trying to sell you stuff it was great strolling around the piazza once again and we pretty much spent the whole day around. We also went to the Castello Sforzesco wich reminded me a lot of Castel Sant'Angelo in Rome. ... atmosphere. There were so many well dressed people. Men with slightly rolled up pants with boat shoes and a casual suit jacket on. Man. They were killing me just by how well dressed they were. Also there were a lot of bikers through the shopping district.

... the lady at the hotel reception to write down for us in Italian what we needed to have done for the bike and that we were Australian tourists just passing through - her English speaking skills were great so we took advantage of this. Note in hand, Greg organised with the dealership manager to get the work done on the spot. The mechanics were soon at work and were quite excited about working on the bike all the way from Australia. ...
