Matt and I decided to take in some Mayan history so caught a bus to Tulum, just under an hour south of Playa. The 62 pesos fare gets a seat in a very modern touring coach, and includes a movie, in Spanish!
The Tulum ruins are the only remains of a Mayan city on the coast. They are said to orient to Venus and while not the largest, it was a spectacular site. The weather was very hot and the kilometre and half walk in from the bus didn't help.

One is a simple grocery located right across the street and another that is more like an upscale grocery store. With the condo lacking food and basics we had to stock up for the week for the group.

We started the day with a good breakfast at Primas followed by a walk of a couple miles down the strip before ...

... Suzy then retreated to bed and I went to meet up with Anna, who had arrived in town, for one final outing before we headed separate ways. We met at her hostel for their ladies hour of free drinks and then joined about a dozen others on a club crawl, a great finale to this part of my trip. The company, location and weather were all a treat and now Suzy is flying home and I'm on to quite a new experience in ...
