Many moons ago on The Forest High band camp were on the Las Vegas strip laughing at the gondola men on the fake lake at The Venetian casino. Little did I know that one day I would be in Venice enjoying the real thing and yes there are lots of gondolas and lots of water. Venice is literally a floating city and because of this navigation is very tricky at times. You all know how directionally challenged I am and Venice tested me to the extreme. The ...

When I was walking, at home, through the streets of Cambridge City with a friend, I noticed that he would stop for every homeless person he saw and give them a bit of cash or a lighter if they wanted to smoke (I know it’s not good to encourage smoking but ignore that, it was the kind gesture I noticed) ...

I definitely felt it whilst on this tour, because I accidentally fell asleep on the tour bus! I was so annoyed at myself! ... of the Abbey to Stiegl Keller, a restaurant and beer garden sitting high above the hill overlooking Salzburg.

Stiegl beer dates to 1492 and the restaurant and beer garden have operated on the site since 1820. Cheryl and I each ordered a pint (YIKES) of beer and enjoyed the cold deliciousness at the end of a very hot Salzburg day. After the beer and some eats, we headed back to the hotel and crashed. We were exhausted and tomorrow was another day for Sound of Music sightseeing.

... with detailed street signs over every entrance. Mozart's birthplace happened to be in the center of the street - the tall yellow house cannot be missed. After purchasing a few Mozartkugel (made of Marzipan, nougat, and dark chocolate), we pressed on towards Mozartplatz. Here, the streets opened up and offered amazing views of the New Residenz and Glockenspiel, Old Residenz, and the Salzburg Cathedral.

From there, we pressed on to St. Peter's Church. The ...
