... So, everything was unpacked and he was opened up again. It was determined that he had a hematoma (pool of blood) under his skin and he was still bleeding just from the nature of the massive surgery. It was a true team effort with about 15 people working on him in the OR. Dr. Gutek and two Romanian surgeons worked to cauterize his bleeding and the surgery lasted 4 hours from start to finish.
