Sat Sunny day took the vaporetta & a bus to garage in Mestre to pick up Sue’s car.
Drove past villas to Asolo (hill country) near Dolomites. Walked up and down
medieval town, great views of fortress & terraced hills. Lunch at ...
Asolo, Veneto, Italy fedck... AC. finally...something worse than the F train!

After a short two stops, we entered our station and lugged our stuff up a few flights. Not more that 100 meters was our very cool hotel, the Brera Carlysle, where we easily checked in and did the "don't unpack" for our 1 night stay.

We then made our way to the street and met my B School buddies Gaia and boyfriend Pietro for dinner at Bebel's, a fine but casual Milano joint with no English ...
Asolo, Veneto, Italy jazzkat6... for good reason as it served quite simply the softest and most delicious pasta I've ever eaten.

It might not stand the test of time however, as I'm about to be served real home made pasta by an Italian in her own home. We are here at Elena's again. Regular blog readers will be familiar as this is the 3rd visit here. I feel like a local now in the little town. Thanks again for the wonderful hospitality.

Ok, back to the relaxing. That's the main task of the day over..

xxx
Quero, Veneto, Italy gypsyfeet... wildflowers are in full bloom and the air is so fresh compared to Venice! I love it here!
The interesting thing about this area is how much like Switzerland or Austria it is. The architecture, the food, even the language. I'm more than confused now!! Think I'll stick with English and see how far I get! The local dialect is very strong and the words are a mixture of Italian & German with a few of their own words thrown in ...
Penia, Trentino-Alto Adige, Italy marybc... come. He's staying longer than we are because he got ripped off by the Italian consolate. It's nice to have a new person with us. On monday we had a new teacher arrive and he is a food and beverage manager. We had to serve for a gala dinner. It was pretty nerve wracking since i've never served before, but i managed. There were only around 11 people at the dinner so it wasn't so hard. The next day was my favorite day here so far. We spent the day in the manager of ...
Folgaria, Trentino-Alto Adige, Italy pandajax365... depressing being waited on by our favorite servers for the last time. It was a pretty usual dinner. After dinner we headed down to the bar where we had champagne and pastries and made a toast to our amazing experience. We took a million pictures including one giant group picture. The night started winding down, which i was dreading because it meant saying more goodbyes. While we were taking pictures, we couldn't find Pino. Later on someone told me he ...
Folgaria, Trentino-Alto Adige, Italy pandajax365... walk we did the first day when my camera batteries died before i took my first picture. The views were wonderful. It was sunny and clear. The perfect day for a walk. I will be a bit lost without my friend Simone. I am totally in her debt for creating such a perfect vacation for me. If I was to create my perfect trip to ...
Tovena, Veneto, Italy lisalauzonAankomst in Italië en even de tijd nemen om uit te laden en naar Cavalese te rijden. Vandaag nog geen skiën. Onze verblijfplaats: http://www.kalditscherhof.it/home.html
Montan, Italy vangorp... order what you see or order something made "al momento," ... honestly, every single place is different! Regardless, Trento was completely wonderful. Sunday, we stopped in Verona for about 4 hours on our way back to Padova. Not much to say really...it was pretty hot, and way too crowded, but we did the tourist thing and went to see Juliet's Balcony. It wasn't that exciting, but what was actually pretty cool is the really beautiful graffiti that covers ...
