... Colosseo we passed the statue of the unknown soldier and that building was stunning and massive.

We continued to walk (about 40 min total) and passed other neat things. My favorite because it was so bizarre was the "cat sanctuary". This is an area of ruins that sit below ground level where all of the stray cats hang out. Don't ask me why but they really were everywhere! Our final step was to cross the Tiber river. Our campus is located along the river and ...

... you don't say "pound" you say "quid", I can now catch the tube without using my map, I drink pints like they're pots and I now say "you alright" instead of "how are you". Alright let's go back a few weeks to when I went to Germany for Oktoberfest in Munich...brace yourselves! We took an overnights bus from London, across the English Channel by ferry then drove through the south of France and into Germany...20 hours, brutal! Arriving on the Friday afternoon we ...

... uni) which was really lovely. We shared a nice bottle of prosecco and dinner and then said our goodbyes. Fancying a late night stroll, we walked to the Trevi Fountain which was absolutely beautiful! I think we might go back later when we have some coins- I need to throw two coins in to make sure that I fall in love! Wish me luck! Two days now till home, really looking forward to seeing you all! Love you ...

Landed in Rome

OH.MY.GOD. Even the food at the airport looks awesome. Only one flight left and I'm starting to feel antsy. I’ve really just decided that I hate travelling. I love going new places, but I hate the actual travelling part. Also, the lack of free wi-fi is driving me nuts. I just want to let my family know that I’m still alive ...

... Also, I included about 20 pictures with the first blog entry but see only 8 showed up, so I will do shorter editions to include more pictures. So here goes. Today is slightly cooler than the high 20's it has been, and it is a nice change. We had been exhausted by the heat, especially while going to and from the metros or on a bus. Which we have done lots ...

    All in all ok

    from

We stayed 1 week at the Pisana Palace. The hotel caters mainly for groups-didn't really bother us as we got a good price-Euro 50,00 double B/B. The rooms are very small, even by european standards. It is within ease of access to Rome by bus( bus stop across the street) and is only Euro 0,77.Breakfast was excellent.Staff at reception: some were not very helpful when we need to change money or for information about the city. On departure when we handed in our key nobody said goodbye or thanks for staying. All in all, the hotel was ok but not exciting.
