Yesterday left Positano. We took a shuttle to Salerno then picked up a car from Avis. The coast road from Positano to Salerno was truly breathtaking and the driver quite friendly and tried to explain a few sights along the way. Headed south and stopped at some Greek ruins in Paestrum which dated back to BC. Weather a little cold and rainy or we probably would have stayed longer. Took the scenic root to Marina di Camerota. Stopped at Bascillicata and had a late lunch at a little pizzeria. ...

Some years after World War II, the place was one of the stays of the writer Ernest Hemingway, during his Italian ...

... coastal road - SP 18. The sun was shining by the time we got to Amantea. We enjoyed the stunning views of the Tyrrhenian Sea to our left and the mountains to our right as we drove through Paola, Celtraro, Belvedere Marittimo and Scalea. We left the main road near Praia a Mare and followed the local coast road through Tortora Marina and Maratea before heading on to Sapri. These were absolutely spectacular ...

... up going back to the beach a little disappointed that the guide hadn't taken us there first.

We had a late lunch and the boys share whole baked fish which was pretty tasty. After lunch we headed back for a spot of swimming in the pool, playing table tennis and a last BBQ together. After dinner we celebrated an early birthday for Ethan with a cake that Nathalie had arranged and Ben and Ethan traded birthday presents.
