Next we drove to Bad Ischl which looked like a pretty town. It was quite nice and the river ran through the middle of it which was pretty. There were horse and carts everywhere and we walked down the town street following them. We managed to find a café that was open and it looked like a cute little tea room. ... through the alps on icy and fairly empty roads was an interesting drive. As we emerged on to the flat plain on northern Italy the weather cleared to a balmy 10 degrees. We parked the cars and hauled our luggage onto a water taxi for the ride to meet our host who took us to our apartment. ... learnt to make pizza shapes (snow plow) but it was all in German. Alex loved it but Samantha was a little hesitant. We then ventured over to Alpendorf to ski as there was not enough snow at Werfenweg. We had a couple of small runs and Alex demonstrated that he had little control.
