Wales and England - AMAZING. We arrived on Friday 16th October. We launched straight into sightseeing mode and went directly to the Roman Baths in Bath. What a groovy town Bath is. The next day was the Dr Who Experience in Cardiff. This probably rated as James' most favourite tourist attraction. That afternoon Paul and James went to the Semi Final of New Zealand v France. Our country v The Country we live in. The rest is history. ...

James is 6 weeks into his first school term in France, with one week to go until the holidays.

One of the most difficult issues moving to another country is re-establishing the kitchen. We were lucky to pre-arrange our furnished apartment well before we left NZ, so it had the rudimentaries of kitchen ware when we arrived. A decent shopping expedition to Ikea in Geneva resolved most of the remaining implements issues, and real cooking soon commenced in earnestAnyone who saw our kitchen in Auckland will know that a lot of thought and effort ...

... at the entrance way, but with a distinct spin towards quality. I was thrilled to wander in there yesterday and notice hundreds of cases of 2001 Bordeaux Haut Medoc piled shoulder high, at the unbelievable price of €8.95 each. Carrefour is great for large weekly shops, where you can pile the trolley full with a huge assortment of delights and spend only €100 or so. Unless of course you get side-tracked by the isles of wines. The best supermarket ...
