... roads we used to make our way up through Italy.

We are getting pretty slick at getting sorted in the morning now. I seem to be able to sort myself out, pannier packed and ready for breakfast within about 20 minutes of the alarm going off. We were on the road well before 08:30 this morning and with the roads being amenable to fairly fast cycling we managed to cover 143km and still finished quite early.

They also had a poodle of sorts who doubled as a "truffle" dog and a very efficient one too providing us with lovely accompaniment to entrecôte steak and the family with a valuable talent! We walked into town and watched a band getting set up in the town square for festivities later in the evening. Found bread and a place to buy a few things the next day, wandered about for a bit and went back to the boat. Later on we heard the music in the distance and had a somewhat obstructed view of 2 sets of fireworks -official- and heard a lot of amateurs well into the evening. All very much similar to a 4th of July in the US.

We lit the fire as it was a bit chilly (quite a change from the previous week!) and played a game of Jungle Speed and Uno and Yahtzee. After the games we watched the soccer. And Netherlands beat Mexico 2-1 Love ...
