... at lunchtime today - when I tried to upload the route for the next section of the journey I got a 'route calculation error' from my GPS. There has been a sort of friendly rivalry between Ian and myself throughout the trip - Ian prefers his paper maps and I put all my faith in the GPS. I wasn't looking forward to admitting to Ian that my GPS had turned into a useless lump of plastic and that we would have to defer to his paper ...

Our journey home commences by train with stops at Dijon, Troyes and Paris and finally the Eurostar.

    Cheers for now!

For several days, we have at some point in the afternoon collected a flight of swallows - maybe we stir up the bugs - who dart and zip and swoop around us delightfully. They are really fun to watch.

We stopped near a little town called Eurville-Bienville on July 13th and were treated that night ...

A walk around the lake and a horses competition

"Everyone let's go and see the lake" says mum. Sometimes we have those moments when you say "oh really! Do we have to?" but we always just got to let it go. So that morning we went and had a walk around the lake - Le lac du Der. On our way driving to the lake we bought some free range eggs from a vending machine outside a farm - kind of like an honesty box like we have back home. ...
