Well from the outside of city there is a breathtaking view of the upper town but once you are in it I woudn't say the same. Still there is plenty to see wandering around the streets and lots of lovely churches to explore. But it's definitely not the best medieval town in Italy.

... Milan we decided to see the mighty Duomo under daylight so we headed off there again. Despite the guys trying to sell you stuff it was great strolling around the piazza once again and we pretty much spent the whole day around. It has a fascinating history having been destroyed 4 times, but contains some amazing artifacts and still has one room of the original Monastery which contains a miracle stone dating back to St. Benedict. If you are ever in the area, be sure to stop by. Due to lives of all the Polish soldiers who died in the Abby defending Italy during the war there is a beautiful monument and cemetery memorializing them on a hill across from Monte Cassino.
