Aarhus, Denmark and London, UK

Have just arrived at Aarhus on the east coast of Denmark having left Madrid early this morning and flying via Copenhagen. Flew a mini plane owned by a mini airline from Copenhagen to Aarhus. I´ve been checked into a small hotel on a river or canal close to the port. Seems to have loads of bars this place! Rather than a room I´ve been given a small flat with its own little kitchen and a balcony overlooking the canal. Have done some emailing and am going to go out for a drink and dinner. For th...

Delightful Århus : D

... Thomas made vegetarian stir fry, I made fajitas, and Pablo made breakfast every morning and a gorgonzola pasta one night. <br> They have a great art museum there too--a highlight for me was a Danish artist that did mobiles---Thomas took us around and showed us the city center, which is only about a half hour walk from the university. I wish I'd have taken more pictures, because really, it's a gorgeous ...

City on the river.

Silkeborg was a beautiful little city built around it's river. It had walking paths by the river, and in the summer had river cruises. Such a pretty place. One thing that caught our attention was the garages for boats, complete with roller doors and all.

More viking stuff

Another viking museum called Moesgard. Fantastic. There was also a forest walk that was replanted in various sections with trees that grew in different time periods of Denmarks history. One section was planted with trees from one particular era, and another section with another era, etc. You'd call it a giant open-air flora museum. It was beautiful, even in winter. There were also things like an iron age house and a stone age barrow and a more recent fishermans house etc.
