Beautiful island with an explosive history
Such a lovely place.
Background:
The island is the site of one of the largest volcanic eruptions in recorded history: the Minoan eruption (sometimes called the Thera eruption), which occurred some 3600 years ago at the height of the Minoan civilization. So we quickly changed our plans and got some breakfast while we waited for the subway. We made it to the airport and with only a minor shuffling of our things were able to check into our flight.
See you in Rome!!
