      ... of vertical to reach the top. On our last 2 sunny days Stew & I did some hikes. One with Mitch & the 11 year old lab. They did amazingly well to both walk nearly 7kms. Another hike was just Stew & I and we reached >2000m as we got above the snow line. Beautiful. Bit sore the next morning.       ... it, even though it was another 1000m above us. The view all around us was incredible. The sky was so blue and the snow was so white. It was absolutely picture-perfect and it was also FREEZING.

      We stood in the famous 'glass void'. It took a little convincing for some of our family members to do it (not the boys!), but we stepped into the void which is literally a large glass box hanging on the side of the mountain, 3842m above the ground. You can see over 1000m straight down ...

      ... small frozen leaves, twigs and insects in the walls which have probably been there for thousands of years! INCREDIBLE. We did all breathe a sigh of relief once we had climbed back up the 430 stairs and had our feet back on solid ground!!

      When we were back at the top, there was an almighty thunderous echo all around us, which was a small avalanche on the other side of the valley and most of us saw it rolling down ...

      ... the falls. What we found was spectacular in the extreme ... A tumbling, cascading, frothing white water miracle of nature ... who knows how far this thing falls ... who cares! Over four sections (four we saw anyway) the water made its way around bends, past craggy rocks and over shear drops. After a shortish walk, where the falls are always in sight, you make your way along a path to the base ... the noise, spray and sight is unbelievable! The water falls into ...
