Today was the feast day of the patron saint of Peru, or so it felt at least! I've been staying with the family of my friend Fernando, and I went with his father today to visit the port and see some of the city. ... Although that's quite scary too. Pedestrians are definitely on the bottom of the heap. Haven't seen a prang yet, but loads of amazingly insane close calls. Pisco sours are good. Tonight I'm sipping on a cinnamon pisco - lime is the traditional flavour. Mike highly recommends the Peruvian red wine too. People here speak far less English than expected, but are friendly.
