If you go to a place on anything but your feet you are taken there too fast and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside." Elizabeth von Arnim. Enjoy your walk today, wherever you go, and if possible, I hope you take the river ...

Left Pontevedra 7.40am. Crossed the bridge down a shopping street and then the buildings started to thin out. The path is mostly rural apart from a small section at San Caetano where you are on the main road with no shoulder or pavement, so you really have to be careful of the traffic. The route generally follows the the railway track. It's strange to think that the trains passing me will be in Santiago in about 40 minutes whereas I still ...
