Great little hotel for old and new towns

Fabulous little hotel right on the edge of the old and new towns. Great location is a 10 min walk to the main square and about 7-8 mins from Wenceslas Square.
Hotel itself is a very modern interior for an old building. Beds very comfortable (though pillows quite soft) and the location is very quiet at night.
Breakfast is very good - wide selection of foods served from 7am.
Hotel fitness centre is small and with limited equipment, but enough to raise a sweat, which is all you really need.
Overall, a very good hotel and one which we'd recommend.

... before us and when we returned to our room the water was still hot so we are not sure what was wrong yesterday. We began the morning by walking the length of Wenceslas Square and then through the centre of Prague to the Jewish sector of Prague today and visited old synagogues, a museum and the old Jewish Cemetery that has been in existence since the early 1400s. One synagogue we entered had the names of all the Prague Jews who had ...

On the way to Cesky Krumlov from Bratislava we were fortunate to find our way to the Brno Autodrome which regularly hosts Moto GP and World Superbike events. Just as we arrived a club ride day track session was getting started so we had a bit of fun watching the bikes take to the circuit at great speed.. A stroke of luck in a trip that does not always run as smoothly as we would like it to.

... was sooo cheap compared to Switzerland and the US. Uber rides were max $3 everywhere, massages were only $30 at a really nice place, and beers were only $1.50. Although it felt like we were spending much more because $1 = 25 Koruna so 2000 Kurona was only around $80.

That night, we were all a bit sick of meat and potatoes, so found a great Mexican restaurant. Kev of course wanted to watch the Superbowl, so we got tickets to this superbowl party in a ...

... all together. A bit of spare time in which we found a local restaurant. You'd never believe it but we were sitting beside a couple from Tauranga !!! Well fed and watered ....,,Anne had goulash with dumplings. We headed back to the square investigating the interiors of a few churches first. Viewed some garnets and beautiful glass work. Tried some hot cider some local chocolates and some local bread/ donut type of thing ...

... a day off, or two. It couldn't be the day Europe blows up once more, could it?

Okay, not so diverse a theme after all as the third part of today's posting revolves around a former Soviet leader, Josef Stalin.
In 1955 the ruling Czech Communist party elected to build in Prague, at a cost of nearly 140,000 Koruny, the biggest statue of Stalin in the world. Standing over 15 metres tall and actually only a part of an exhibit that was several ...
