Perhaps I could have visited more of the town or another places in the region but I was getting a bit chilly from sweating during the hike earlier on, and just wanted to go 'home' to my cute little apartment, have the food I still had left over, and watch The Sopranos on my laptop. :-)

I walked around all the little hidden streets of Quedlinburg, climbed a watchtower, had coffee at a cute cafe.
Walked around some more at random and through parts I had not seen yet.
It started to rain, so I sat in a cafe for an hour or so reading and having big beer. Very pleasant and leisurely day, waiting for a dry day to do another forest / mountain hike. ...
Looked around the town, had expensive, not-so-good coffee on the touristy main square (staff was a bit snooty too). When I asked whether they had wifi for the guests, she looked at me like I had just escaped from a lunatic asylum. No wifi anywhere in this whole Harz region, not that I could find anyway.
Lots of rain kind of limited the options ...
