... met Bernie Betschel (another cousin - brother to Lydia) and went on to his place in Schoerningen. What a wonderful and warm welcome I received. Walked around some more at random and through parts I had not seen yet.

It started to rain, so I sat in a cafe for an hour or so reading and having big beer. Very pleasant and leisurely day, waiting for a dry day to do another forest / mountain hike. ...

... confusing where you should buy tickets and I thought it wouldn't be far to walk and I could do with the exercise after drinking so many milk coffees and beers. :-) But the climb was very steep and pretty taxing.

But it was worth it, it's a beautiful castle, with loads of rooms all decorated with many details of various ages, and explanations.
