Darkness enveloped the room I shared with precious granddaughter Annalise, but the call of my other half woke my sleepy body and at 4:45am I was up and running. All prepared and ready to go when the cab arrived to take me to Heathrow for the flight to Hanover, Germany! ... seventies for €2 for 4 pieces.
A set of one earthenware pitcher, 6 cups, and 2 big beer mugs, all together for €15.
And some Playmobil for my nephews and nieces that will take a thorough bath at my home before I give them. :-)

One oldish guy at the flea market was funny. He told me, if I had any questions about his products, just ask. I showed him my heavy bag, "You have some nice wine glasses but ...

Perhaps I could have visited more of the town or another places in the region but I was getting a bit chilly from sweating during the hike earlier on, and just wanted to go 'home' to my cute little apartment, have the food I still had left over, and watch The Sopranos on my laptop. :-)

Rain was predicted.

I walked around all the little hidden streets of Quedlinburg, climbed a watchtower, had coffee at a cute cafe.

Walked around some more at random and through parts I had not seen yet.

It started to rain, so I sat in a cafe for an hour or so reading and having big beer. Very pleasant and leisurely day, waiting for a dry day to do another forest / mountain hike. ...

Looked around the town, had expensive, not-so-good coffee on the touristy main square (staff was a bit snooty too). When I asked whether they had wifi for the guests, she looked at me like I had just escaped from a lunatic asylum. No wifi anywhere in this whole Harz region, not that I could find anyway.

Lots of rain kind of limited the options ...
