... most often used for festivals (probably best known in Oktoberfest). I am hoping to go to Oktoberfest during one of our weekends and instead of renting a dirndl or having to go in my street clothes, I found a cheep one in a shop just a block from my apartment. It was 48 euro and then I had 15 euro worth of alterations made which, if you look at the prices of traditional dirndls, is really quite good. Anyways, if is really beautiful and fits me ...

Can't believe I didn't win....;-) Once in Vienna, we all cheered! We'd spent 2 long days in the worst heat so far (a BLAZING 97 degrees- poor Canadiens). Back at the hotel we headed off to bed with mini cup of teas for me (there was a kettle! And tiny ...

... Paine Grande (3,050m). Cerro Paine Grande is best seen from the campsite across the lake via catamaran at camp Paine Grande where we stayed for 1 night. Cuernos del Paine is best viewed during the French Valley walk, also reached from this campsite.

Los Cuernos is made up of three granite peaks: Cuerno Norte, Principal and Este. These are part of the 120 million year old Paine massif and have been formed as a result of erosion by glaciers, wind and rain.

... that Vienna's biggest Christmas Market is across the street from city hall. We knew the general direction for city hall so off we went.

We found the Christmas Market just as it was getting dark and what an event. The Christmas Market takes over a city park. There are several large trees in the park and each one is decorated with a different clever theme. There are a couple of pictures ...
