    So today was an example of how wonderful my husband Craig really is. Many years ago in 1983 when we Eurailed our way around Europe our train stopped at a pretty place called Zell am See in Austria. We were going to Salzburg and Craig said at the time – let's go back and have a look at this town one day. So it was on his bucket list.     ... where we switched buses and drove back to Berchtesgaden. Christine was kind enough to have the driver stop the bus and let 4 of us out at the edge of town who were taking the 840 back to Salzburg because we were going to miss the 5:15 bus if we drove all the way into town.

    By 6:00 p.m. we were back in sunny Salzburg, had changed our clothes and were headed back out to the old town to take in Salzburg's version of Octoberfest. Now the great part about this little event ...

    ... that had been installed into the caves for Friday night concerts in the summer. This country is music crazy so I shouldn't have been surprised, but it was really weird to see a piano in the middle of the ice.

    ... back into the store where I bought the sweater and asked about wine. (By the way, this store was the best store ever … wine, cheese, meats, drug store stuff, clothing and regular groceries. Hallstatt's very own Costco.) We ended up talking to the proprietor for quite a bit (he had only opened the store in May) and we did a little wine tasting.
