    ... soup….ahhhhhhhhh.

It is imperative to keep our fitness up whilst travelling so we hire mountain bikes that have been used in the Dacha rally then had addition of seats made to slice you in half. Lovely, we cycle and whinge our way around the lake being taken over by Great Grandparents in Lykra. The highlight is a FAB lunch served by the cutest looking Austrian in leather Lederhosens looking over the lake with elegant white swans. Life is perfect even if we can’t ...

A very wet and foggy morning! Not a good start as the photos show, still we walked the half hour along the lake from Obertraun to Hallstatt station. It is a lovely walk even when it is drizzling, we passed several people with dogs and bikes along this path. The salt mine made the town of ...

... make out through the gloom, towering mountains, boats like butterflies, flitting across the water, and church steeples as we rounded bends. Then we followed a river for many miles until we came to lake Hallstatt. We swept along the shores until you could see the township of Hallstatt with its distinct church steeples. The train stops at the train station called Hallstatt but to get to the town you must cross the lake by ferry. We arrive at the small village and walk to our ...

... and Tina our amazing host took our laundry as there wasn't a self service one in town. We walked 2 minutes up the street to the indoor pools and waterslide for a relaxing time. We spent 3 hours there in the steam room, the heated pool and on the slide. A group of school children were there doing swimming lessons and I'm happy to say couldn't beat the day record set by me on the waterslide. It was 10.06 seconds if your wondering lol. We walked down to the Zeller and hired ...
