The weather was miserable (rain and cloud) but we made the most of our time there by enjoying the historical sites and hearing how Christopher Plummer, the Captain in the Sound of Music, spent most of his time pi55ed when not filming. Disgusting I say.
Just when you think it can’t get any better than Germany, over the mountains (and through lots of tunnels) lies the gorgeous valley of Seeboden in Southern Austria. The landscape here reminds me of Switzerland, and our little spot looks out over green meadows, a lake, lush forests and snow topped mountains. Pretty and relaxing, but a bit cold. We stayed here last year, and our sweet landlady was as happy to see us as we were to see her. ...
