After 2 days in Munich, we meandered south towards Austria. We stopped at the summer palace, Linderhof Castle, built by "mad, King Ludwig" where it began to snow, the first of the season. Hard to believe it started so late in the Bavarian mountains. It was a small palace, but extremely ornate and extravagant.
Our lunch stop was in the small town of Oberammergau, famous for its performance of the Passion Play done every 10 years. It was charming and a ...

Of course we didn’t know that so when we came upon a police checkpoint and were asked to pull over to the side of the road we started out very confident, knowing we hadn’t done anything wrong. That all changed when the officer, in his best Arnold sounding Austrian accent ...

... minute stop here and we were off again, towards Innsbruck. This drive was through a lot of tunnels through mountains , one of them was 11kms long, during this time Bern took the time to explain all our optional extras. Our lunch stop was at an enormous service centre. There were loads of trucks parked there because in Europe, truckies are not allowed to be on the road between 10:00pm Saturday night and 10:00pm Sunday night. So they ...
