Some of the most breathtaking scenery we have seen ever !!!! We drove along the valley floor looking at what we thought we're some special views, until we started climbing up to Grossglockner and were amazed at the scenery. ... blogs. Today is a day of lakes so this morning we set off for an 8km walk climbing through farmland to the hidden Lake Traubensee (873m). From there we ambled down to Hintersee (789m) which is considered one of the most beautiful lakes in all of Germany. ... 10 days. So today it was breakfast in Italy, lunch in Austria and dinner in Germany. The drive up was uneventful with next to no trucks on the road because it is a religious public holiday - Pentecost. As soon as we crossed the border from Italy to Austria we purchased fuel because it is considerably cheaper than in Italy.
