... We headed out of the central station and Donna and Stu showed us some of the nearby Salvation Army sights in and around the notorious Red Light District.

With the smell of pot lingering in the air we wandered through the beautiful canal city, passing women in windows, souvenir shops selling Delft-Blue ceramic salt and pepper shakers shaped like penises, stunning buildings and gorgeous cafes.

So ...... catch a train to Rotterdam Centraal, then a train from there to Amsterdam, ok got that .... once we managed to actually find which platform that train left from! Yep.......dealing with this... no problem ....not stressed at all !!!

In Rotterdam a nice young man was explaining to us that the train we needed had broken down and that we had to change platforms when a very bolshy British woman decided her need was greater and interrupted the explanation. ...

... staying. Sunday morning we rented a car and headed two hours northeast of Amsterdam. It was a nice drive through the countryside dotted with windmills, sheep and cows. Day two of round two in Amsterdam and this time I was going to do it right- keep my eyes open and see the sights!

... left central station and started to walk around Amsterdam. I didn't really have a plan and just wandered seeing as much as I could. I walked through the red light district, the flower market, and to de pijp. The canals running through the city reminded me a bit of Chicago but there's nothing quite like Amsterdam.
