The hotel in Munich was your traditional European hotel. We climb 6 flights for stairs to get to our room, the elevator only fit one person and one piece of luggage, the rooms were the size of closets and you had to step over the toilet to get into the shower, it was family run, you had to pay for internet - which was only available in the lobby, and there was a fine if you were loud after 10 o'clock.
