They like their polenta here...
Checked out Juliette's House as it was included in the Verona card we got, but it was pretty **** and not worth paying for separately. She never even lived there...
Verona is a nice little town, but 1 day was plenty enough and time to move on to Milan
......... So apparently the title is a quote from Romeo and Juliet...... You learn something new every day!
So we only stopped here for a couple of hours as a rest stop but it was pretty cool.
Verona is a very pretty town that is famous for Juliet Capulet's balcony and the entrance to the balcony is where all the lovey dovey couples write ...
... to Siena for a day trip and Jason nearly got arrested tryint to use a public toilet. I guess it costed 50 cents but he only had 3x20 cent coins and wasn't sure if the machine would take not exact change so jumped the turnstyle instead. Got screamed at and chased down by the italian bathroom police (a highly specialized elite force) so he put the money in and had the pee scared out of him (literally, as he ...
Verona, Veneto, Italy jamieandjason... walk quick as I did so, and he said something to me as I passed, but my heart was pounding so loud in my ears I didn't hear what it was. I practically ran back to the castle, but luckily, he didn't follow this time. Once I was on the right road my heartbeat went back to normal and I was able to enjoy the day again. I bought my ticket home and sat on a bench with Coldplay in my ears and the sun on my back and a thought hit me-who is this girl ...
Desenzano Del Garda, Lombardy, Italy alliemarie... across the square and to enter the cathedral. It was crazy with people walking through the water (getting wet), people pushing in and police actually trying to get some order. We decided to get out of that area quickly as everything was overpriced. We headed towards the Rialto Bridge and came across toilets which cost 1.50 Euros each person which apparently is the going rate. So for 4 of us, it cost $12 AUD just for us to go to ...
Verona, Veneto, Italy kiama_on_tour... painting in them were common. I’m not really into Italian art, but there were a couple of Bellini’s paintings which were a standout. The castle itself was impressive, including the bridge that crossed the river from the castle. After we left the castle, we searched for a kid’s playground that we read about, plus Tara wanted to go to the toilet so we thought there would be one there. When we found it, the playground was really suitable for small ...
Verona, Veneto, Italy kiama_on_tourIt was still raining so we got a taxi to the train station as we were heading to Verona in Italy. A funny thing happened at the station- we were in the supermarket there when the security thing beeped as someone went out of the shop- we looked and it was a nun leaving the shop- the shoppers all were smiling. As the trained climbed across Brenner Pass, the rain had turn to snow but as we got into Italy the weather cleared ...
Verona, Veneto, Italy kiama_on_tour... It was like finally my brain and my subconscious could operate at the same speed. I was seeing everything at once like a beautiful painting. I know, it sounds like they slipped me some absinthe or mary jane, but seriously, I just watch the crowd of people go by and saw each individual while I saw the whole part of the crowd. It was incredible. Same thing with the clouds, layers and layers and layers of 'seeing'. I loved it. I don't know if I ...
Verona, Veneto, Italy josiezim... ants nest. not the best pitch we have ever had. We spend the first day lounging by the lake, this part of the lake is dirty and nothing like the romantic picturesque images we were looking forward to. nevertheless it was relaxing the food was good and the beer was cold.
what more could I ask for?
a pitch in the shade away from the ants and the children, too much to ask?
