... Google Translate will give you a nice big image of your phrase, handy for doing just this). My bus driver in Popard did not speak English, and after one attempt with Slovac, I pulled out my phone with the phrase "I would like to go to Spis Castle, please" in his language and he instantly knew what I needed. It may sound stupid, but when you can't even pronounce place names without people looking at you funny, it works. Bratislava was a fine town. I took a ...

... which was great! We then made our way back to the bus stop, only to miss our bus by around 3 minutes. An hour or so later, we were on our way to Kocise.

It was like their Friday night Fish Fry (a Wisconsin metaphor) and this was THE spot to be in. We totally lucked out on our choice. I love the soups here. The Saurkraut soup (Kapustnica) is my fave. I just can't get enough of it. But they offer a healthier choice of soup at this place, the Penzion Koliba. It's Garlic soup. Of ...

... Big Deal! We sat in the hot pool and enjoyed the rain. Each night, there was a laser show in one of the large indoor pools. It was actually pretty cool. I've never seen anything like it and they can create holograms of people dancing in mid-air above the pools after they spray a fog over the pool.

In the background are the Tatras Mountains, a range of the Carpathians. It's a big tourist draw for Slovakians, ...
