... century BC! The potteries are for you Mum..they used some sort of wheel to turn their clay. The large urn is the same height as Brian it was turned in three to four pieces.....someone must have been the turner & someone else the potter surely? Must have been a combination of coils & turning. Later potteries were seen to be painted then the dark paint was etched. You may make out the little blue pottery....time after trade with exports & imports.
... was realizing at the site that Jen's memory card was still in the computer - thank god we have two cameras on this trip!
Returning to the hotel, we learned Athens had a 5.0 Earthquake that afternoon at 3pm. We had already arrived in Crete at that time, though Jen had told me earlier that she dreamt during our last night in Athens we were in an earthquake. Very curious indeed! Time to get some much needed sleep before diving ...
