... herbs, filling honey jars, gathering and cracking open hazelnuts and yet more weeding we have experienced a number of fun and interesting foods and things here in Italy, I can't wait to share all my stories and "good" pictures. :) Although we are enjoying Italy we are ready to come home, God has watched over and blessed us so much on this trip. ... burning question, today's gelato flavors are: Chris--Nutella/caffe Colleen--pistachio/bacio (chocolate/hazelnut) There was a pop-up street fair in the square right outside our hotel, so we decided to wander through. There were beautiful olives, fruits, pastries, breads, cheeses, vinegars and candies. There were some painted ceramics and hand-crafted olive wood items as well. ... wines were sparkling for dinner which was a nice change of pace. We had a light Prosecco to start, a Lambrusco with the meal, and a sweet Moscato d'Asti with dessert. (Shout out to Aunt Janice and Melissa--I finally found your Moscato!--cm) It was definitely a day centered around food, and tomorrow the trend will continue. ... Villa San Donnino which was a 'traditional’ balsamic vinegar manufacturer. We got the details about how long they store the grape juice. This is not normal balsamic vinegar but a thicker, tastier, much more expensive version – not usually used for salad dressing.
