We waited in line at the port, dock number 4 and bought cheap tickets for a one hour boat ride. We really enjoyed this and oohed and aahhhed at how lovely it all was.

The obligatory ice-cream stop after the boat ride before we headed back to the hotel, stopping on the way at a K.Mart kind of store to buy me some swimming goggles, with my bright idea of swimming some laps in the big hotel pool.

Hmmmm that didn't eventuate. ...

Thank you for all your comments about the blog but we haven't quite finished yet! Still about 24 hours before we'll be on our doorsteps, a whole city still to explore and at least one more blog post! ... in the street pretending not to see you and simply running into you to make a point, so they can maintain their walking five abreast up a narrow street. In the end i asked Joelene to walk behind me and as part of our effort to get to our meeting point and a few Italian shoulders were pushed 90 degrees to appropriately share the pedestrian area. ... for Mum to fly with the cast but some airlines have a strict policy of not allowing people to fly with a cast. We don't know if Emirates is one of those airlines. If this is the case the cast will need to be cut so it is openable but it should stay on the arm. It would be sealed back up at the other end.
The x-ray pictures need to be kept by us and were not yet ready so I volunteered to come back later in the day.
