At 1.00am an entire family of about 10 enter my cabin and it looks like a mother daughter and grandmother need my bed so all three of then lie where I was sitting (there are initially four on the bed but one of them chooses to sleep on the floor between the beds). Akhil calls me and a have a small space at the foot of the third bed up, just beyond where he's sleeping. At 2.00am three indian women who must be ...

... had not booked a hotel. But, we had bought the Lonely Planet on my kindle so we had a list of options. The driver had no idea how to get to the first ones so we had to ask around a bunch but finally found it. And, it was full. So we went to number 2. Also full. We were getting a bit nervous but, we'd figure it out. Why hadn't we thought to book in advance? Or ask the doctor for a recommendation? He goes to Mangalore every month and stays over, I'm sure he knew of somewhere. ...
