    ... s extraordinary to think something so powerful in nature can reach so far south. I have experienced a moderate earthquake in Mexico City but I hope never to experience what the Nepalese have witnessed. The Indian papers have covered the story in depth. There was a very sobering photo of the lower half of someone's body splayed out on rubble. The upper half had disappeared under something that looked like a house. I hope it was quick?

    Well it's been NH66 with also a bit of NH17 thrown in but it's certainly been 'interesting' to say the least. Having been lucky enough to ride some sections of the American 66 I can honestly say they share very little in common.     ... Agumbe. Mangalore didn't have any great locations other than few listed beaches but St. Mary's Island boating fascinated me and felt that will be the moment of the trip. Booked hotels/resorts in Surathkal, Udupi & Thirthahalli for 3 nights. The drive plan is to go from Bangalore to Mangalore via Hassan/Sakleshpur and return back from Shimoga via Arsikere/Tumkur.

    ... locals place up the road but wouldn’t have trusted meat there and veg wise they only served mutter (pea), aloo (potato) or palak (spinach). I ordered mutter masala – no mutter, ok, so ordered aloo masala and then after 5 mins was told no aloo! Gave up and went to the pricey place instead but so glad we did.
