    A 4am start, followed by a £19 cup of tea and coffee ($35 AUD!!) marked our departure from London.     ... impressive Roman ruins the girls had seen. It has nothing on Rome, but you could feel the energy of the past through the stones that were scattered about. We even found a mosaic from the 4th century, part of the floor of the once temple turned cathedral. Although the place was a mess, you could kinda piece together the massive business and center of life that once held this city at its climax.

    ... to Pile Gate, the main entrance to Dubrovnik old town. Like Split, Dubrovnik is a walled city right next to the sea. It was pounded during the war in the early 1990's and you can still see the marks in the street where the shells landed. It is a beautiful city though, it has been well restored.
