Back on the Road Again
... like an architect!!
The weather by late afternoon had got very hot so it was good to settle into our hotel on the main town square (the 'Plaza Mayor') and do the chores like laundry and so on. Dinner was in the plaza - a dish of tripe, one of the local specialties. But very oily and sausagey, not like the tripe and onions my Mum used to make.
A big day tomorrow so hope the town hall clock doesn't keep us awake. Lots of bell clanging every quarter hour...

Unterwegs plaudern wir kurz mit Annette aus Schweden, sie läuft sehr langsam und hat eine Kompresse am linken Knie. Sie erzählt uns, dass sie mit 17 kg Gepäck in Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port losgelaufen war und dann aber 8 kg wieder nach Hause geschickt hat, weil sie körperliche Probleme bekommen hatte. Deshalb auch der Verband am Knie.

A Day in the Life

Usually one student translates for the whole class whatever question I am trying to ask or point I am trying to make. But they smile at me in the hallway and say “Hola…I mean hello!” My second class on Tuesday is with the Primero de ESO (sixth grade equivalents) but this time the non-bilingual group. Stained glass and slaughter
... as a foot wide and reached as high as Stefano’s neck. We couldn’t touch them or take photos of them but you can take my word for it…they were cool. With pretty, colourful illustrations and funky calligraphic Latin writing. Admittedly the illustrations looked like they were done by a sight-impaired muppet, but they were 1000 years old so that’s pretty cool.
