Another day of great riding, lots of fast bends, good road surfaces, marvellous scenery, interesting villages, good coffee and lots of traffic to use as mobile bollards. We quickly realized the people she was waiting for weren't us (even though we had booked online an hour earlier). After some tense moments, she told us she could give us a room. Had she had no vacancy, we have no idea what we would have done. We would have likely slept in the car.

Upon our arrival in the coastal Austrian town of Rovinj, the owner of our apartment accommodation picked us up from the bus station. This was the start of the kindness we were shown by him and his wife. Our apartment was small, but big enough for the three of us with a washing machine the nice woman helped us turn on (it was fairly confusing), and a kitchen where we made dinner one night.
