... such beautiful autumn colour; green, yellow, orange and red in the liquid amber, birch and oak trees. In the thick of the forest, on the side of the street, we saw a large stainless steel door embedded in to a rock face. Marcello later told us that the door was the entry to a 1000 bed hospital built back into the the mountain and fully equipped to manage any situation which might arise. Incredible and so unassuming! It was just outstanding. I loved it. Would actually just sit back and do it again, soaking it all in. Said goodbye to Gaudenz at Brig. Arrived at Zermatt and very easy to find the hotel. Great day. Many thanks to my travel companion! He's the one with the 'other' red ...

... will cost $8, and it's just the house wine, no great shakes. I guess we are lucky we can afford these prices. But it still rubs one the wrong way. For us to have dinner out in Switzerland every night the bill is well over a hundred dollars. OUCH!!!

We walked through the Protestant church this afternoon then went into the Cathedral. It was built in the 14th century. It had fantastic frescos and was very ...
