... rice dish with bread and salad. In the afternoon we were supposed to catch the ferry to the other side of the lake, however we read the timetable wrong and missed it which meant that we had to drive to Rapperswil instead. We walked around the town here as well and also around the lake. Before heading home, we had gelato in a cafe by the lake. When we got home we got to play with Lorenzo while Cristina was cooking dinner. Dinner was delicious! It was so good to have ...

Day 285 5 hrs, 8 kms Day Totals: 16 hrs, 29.6 kms Technically I'm in Italy, but as my friend in Flies reminded me, this region is historically and culturally part of Austria. ... research first before settling on the hostel, and wander around in the dark, using a map given to me by the tourism office in Prutz. Turns out the prices quoted on the map are a little different than the ones they give me at the door. Finally I figure the hostel is my best bet, so I head back across town to look for it. Turns out, I get my own cozy room, so it all ...

1732. A very un-Austrian Bridge

Day 283 4 hrs, 8 kms Strengen has a peculiar landmark: a covered bridge that looks like a bunch of random pieces of lumber attached together, all crooked, looking like it could fall over at any time. Just seems really out of place here in Austria where everything it seems is made to perfection. Does look pretty cool ...
